Bowling Green

While not technically a Building, the bowling green is an important part of Bangour history and was a welcome addition for many residents who enjoyed the sport.

What was it used for?

The Bowling Green allowed residents to play bowls, a popular sport at the time. This was seen as beneficial for both physical and mental wellbeing, along with many other activities offered elsewhere in the Recreation Hall.

Where is it?

The bowling green is situated in the South East corner of the village. It was difficult to find a place for it since the ground needed to be completely flat and most of the village was built on an incline.

Is it being removed?

Sadly yes, the Bowling Green will be removed and the land used for residential housing. At the very least whoever lives in these houses will enjoy a very flat back garden.
